Foundations partner for Give Big CHQ

Tory Irgang, Chautauqua Region Community Foundation executive director, and Diane Hannum, Northern Chautauqua Community Foundation executive director, are partnering to host Give Big CHQ on June 13, which will include all of Chautauqua County.

Something BIG is returning.

For the second year in a row, Give Big CHQ, the region’s only 24-hour online fundraising event, will raise as many dollars possible for local, nonprofit organizations.

Scheduled for June 13, this year’s event has one BIG change.

This year, nonprofit organizations located in, or who serve communities throughout, Chautauqua County are eligible to participate.

“We are thrilled to be partnering with our friends at the Northern Chautauqua Community Foundation to make this year’s event a county-wide fundraising effort,” said Tory Irgang, Chautauqua Region Community Foundation executive director.

The foundations will once again be working with GiveGab, a leading expert in giving days, to develop and support its online platform. Nonprofit organizations will have the opportunity to build a fundraising page and campaign to spread their message through email and fun, creative social media posts.

Last year’s event generated nearly $90,000 to help support over 60 organizations throughout Southern Chautauqua County.

“Give Big CHQ is a win-win for all nonprofit organizations that participate,” said Diane Hannum, NCCF executive director. “(The organizations) will, of course, raise funds for their important programs, while at the same time, develop their online fundraising and social media skills.”

Registration for local nonprofits will open March 4. Both foundations will be hosting in-person information sessions for nonprofits to learn more about participating in the 2019 event.
