A water main break in Silver Creek damaged this sidewalk.

SILVER CREEK — A water main break on Main Street in the village created some chaos near the Central Avenue intersection.

Village crews were working to pump out water the flowed into the heart of downtown about an hour ago this morning. Besides flooding the roads, it also damaged a main portion of the sidewalk.

Crews were still on the scene this afternoon. Traffic is not being detoured.

According to officials, the break is going to be a major repair with 25 feet of sidewalk having to be taken out around Main Street and Central Avenue.
