Cassadaga American Legion Post 1280 marches in Gerry Memorial Day Parade

Members of the Cassadaga American Legion Post 1280 Honor Guard participated in the Gerry Memorial Day Parade on May 26. The honor guard led the parade along Route 60 to the Gerry Cemetery where a Memorial Day service was held. Paul Cooley led all in the Pledge of Allegiance, and the Cassadaga Valley School Band played the National Anthem. The 96th Highlanders Pipe Band played “Amazing Grace.” The Honor Guard gave the 21-gun salute during the service. Pat Hayward from the Legion Auxiliary County President read the roll call of wars of the Americans. Chaplain of the Legion Diane K. Shaw gave the opening invocation, and at the end, members of the Legion James Hayward, Larry Downey and Sons of American Legion Commander Diman Smith raised the flags from half mast to the full mast.
