A report of smoke inside a Van Buren Point residence sent firefighters to the scene late Thursday night. An unknown source of smoke reportedly permeated the house at 5654 Lakeside Road and led the occupants to believe that the source of the smoke was from somewhere within the structure. Fire investigators from Brocton Fire Department swept the house and were unable to locate any signs of a fire. There were no reported injuries. Responding agencies included Brocton Fire Department and Portland Fire Department.
