Westfield FD donates defibrillator to village recreation department

In advance of this year’s summer programs at Welch Field, the Fire Department of Westfield has donated an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) to the Westfield Recreation Department. In the event of a medical emergency requiring an AED, trained staff from the Recreation Department will now have immediate access to a defibrillator so potential life saving treatment can begin prior to the arrival of the Fire Department. Pictured transferring the device from the Fire Department to the Recreation Department are from left to right: Emergency Medical Technician Jamie Jaynes, Fire Department of Westfield Rescue Squad, and Village of Westfield Recreation Department Director Andrew Webster.
