Partners in Kind seeks volunteers

Partners in Kind’s (PIK) biggest fund-raiser event of the year is quickly approaching and volunteers are needed to help make it a success. This event gives PIK the ability to help families in Chautauqua County throughout the year, as well as supporting the Thanksgiving for Heroes Dinner, Remember the Magic Christmas event, Easter Baskets for the Elderly and other projects that come up along the way.

For the third year, the Reid Jones Memorial Cruise-In will be held on Saturday, Sept. 14 at the Gerry Rodeo grounds. A few things will be done differently this year, so there are many opportunities to lend a helping hand. PIK will be cooking and serving breakfast sandwiches, selling chicken barbecue dinners ($10 per dinner pre-sale, $12 at the door), holding a huge basket raffle and running children’s activities throughout the day. Hands are also needed to do the heavy lifting of set-up, cleanup and various tasks.

Help is still needed with raffle baskets. Raffle baskets can be dropped off at either Forestville Chiropractic, 24 Main St., Forestville on Mondays 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Tuesday 2 to 6 p.m., Thursday 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., 4 to 6 pm. and Saturday 9 to 11 a.m. or at Spa on the Avenue, 953 Central Ave., Dunkirk Tuesday through Friday 9 a.m. to 7 pm. and Saturday 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Those in the south county can contact PIK and Heather Brock or another member of the Car Show Committee will be in touch to arrange drop off. Any questions regarding baskets can be directed to Jenn Michalek at info@partnersinkindchq.org or via the PIK Facebook page.
