FORESTVILLE — Congressman Tom Reed got a first-hand look recently at grape farming and farm supply operations at Militello Farms. The Militello family business began in the 1970s and has expanded to include a farm supply store that offers grape pesticides, trellis material, fertilizers and other items.

Reed was able to tour the facilities and the store, walk through the vineyards and test the sugar levels of grape samples. Owner James Militello gave Reed a behind-the-scenes look into day-to-day farm operations.

“The hard work and dedication put into the Militello family farm and farm supply store is evident and I thoroughly enjoyed the visit,” said Reed. “Visiting local businesses and farms across the district is incredibly important, as these smaller operations build both our communities and our economy.
