Westfield senior citizens hold August meeting
WESTFIELD — Twenty two members were present for a dish to pass supper at YWCA on Aug. 8. Shirley Kolpien shared a funny joke. The meeting was opened by President Pat Sciarrino with a prayer. Members recited the “Pledge of Allegiance”.
The secretary’s report was read and accepted. The treasurer’s report was read and accepted. There is $40 in the entertainment fund.
Shirley noted birthdays for Nancy Peters, Terri Quijada and Geri Harper. Anniversaries for Lenora & Bob Carpenter, Ann and Dave Cochran and Judy & Ron Sumption.
Door prize was won by Jan Vanord. 50/50 was won by Elaine Prince who donated it back to the club.
The next meeting is on Thursday, Sept. 12 at 6 p.m. Set up committee need to be at the Y by 5:30 p.m.: Joyce Wainwright, Ruth Carris, and Bill Sausum. There will be provided desserts.
Members are asked to bring a dish to pass and their own table service.
The meeting was ended with a prayer by Pat and members recited the Serenity Prayer.
Attendees were entertained by Emma Bishop’s Centerstage dancers, singers and pianist.
