December programming at Anderson-Lee Library

SILVER CREEK — Anderson-Lee Library, located at 43 Main St. in Silver Creek has announced their programming for the month of December. Programs are free and open to the public. Registration is required unless stated otherwise, to ensure enough seating and materials for all patrons attending the program. To register for programs, call the library at 934-3468, stop by 43 Main St., message us on Facebook, or visit www.andersonleelibrary.org and click on the events tab for easy online registration. Those interested can also sign up for email/text reminders when you register online!

The library will be closed Tuesday, Dec. 24 and 31.

Pre-School and School Age Storytime

Pre-school Storytime for children ages 2 to 5 on Thursday mornings Dec. 5, 12 and 19 with Miss Jill at 10:30 a.m. Children will participate in reading, singing, rhymes and fun crafts. Children under 3 ¢ will need a parent/caregiver present.

Storytime for School Age Children on Thursday mornings Dec. 5, 12 and 19 at 10:30 a.m. Miss Amy will organize a variety of activities for children ages 6 to 10. Expect stories, crafts, Legos, games, and more! Great for homeschooling families!

Clubs

LEGO club meets the first Tuesday of the month at 6:30 p.m. All ages are welcome to join us on Dec. 3 for our monthly building challenge.

Tinker Tuesday will not meet this month. Please join us in January!

Magic the Gathering will meet Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. on Dec. 3, 10, and 17. For ages 13 and up. We will use Commander Format and Oathbreaker/Brawl based on attendance. Bring your own deck!

Special Events

Pillow Preparedness with The Red Cross, Thursday, Dec. 5 at 6 p.m. for kids age 8 to 11. This presentation will teach kids how they and their households can best prevent, prepare for and stay safe in several different types of emergencies. Participants will receive the “My Preparedness Workbook” and a sturdy pillowcase to hold their own emergency supplies kit. Registration is limited to 10 participants.

Music and Stories with Miss Ginny, Saturday, Dec. 14 at 10:30 a.m. for ages 2 to 10. Ginny Miller, a certified Music and Movement specialist will provide an interactive Music and Movement event that will get children up and moving to a variety of classic songs and new favorites! She holds a Master of Education Degree, a Graduate Credential in Child and Family Advocacy, and has been providing Music and Movement events for the children of Chautauqua County for over 25 years! It is a strong passion of hers to share the joy of music with children as a means of building community, strengthening friendships, and boosting self-confidence. Join in for this very special event!

Wrapping Station, Friday Dec. 20 from noon to 5 p.m. Drop by with your gifts that need to be wrapped and use our wrapping station. Wrapping paper, ribbons, bows and other small items will be available to make beautifully wrapped gifts! Hot beverages and cookies will be provided.

Make a Gingerbread House, Saturday, Dec. 21 at 11 a.m. All ages are invited to come and decorate a gingerbread house. All materials will be provided. Just bring your creativity! Seating is limited to 12, so register early as this event filled up very quickly last year.
