Fredonia a finalist for ‘Small Business Revolution’ series

Fredonia has made it to the top 10 for season five of the “Small Business Revolution.” After reviewing thousands of nominations from across the country, a team from the “Small Business Revolution” selected the village of Fredonia to move forward as a contender in the next season of the Small Business Revolution, an original series by Deluxe.

“Team members of the Small Business Revolution Team noted that our community’s passion for small business is evident and that is what helped drive their decision,” said David Dengler, chair of the Fredonia Community Chamber of Commerce. “Members of the Small Business Revolution team will be visiting our community on Dec. 11th and 12th to interview small business owners and community leaders.”

The Small Business Revolution show is featured on Hulu and Amazon and is hosted by Amanda Brinkman and Ty Pennington. The Small Business Revolution team is on a mission to help small businesses, and in turn, those small towns, reignite the spark that drives them and keeps people coming back. Each season, Deluxe seeks out America’s most inspiring small towns and awards the winner — and several of its small businesses — a $500,000 revitalization and features the transformation in an original series.

“An individual from the community nominated Fredonia and consequently the Chamber of Commerce was contacted by Small Business Revolution and asked to submit information regarding our small businesses, the unique assets of the community and the collaborative work that is being done by a variety of organizations to help support small businesses,” stated Dengler. “Clearly the Small Business Revolution team like what they see about this great community and selected us to be one of the top 10 communities. If we make it into the top five, which will be determine on Jan. 14th there will be a public voting process for a one week period. It is clear that we need to start to mobilize and rally the community right now around this great opportunity.”

Other communities in the top 10 include: Benicia, Calif., Bisbee, Ariz., Brunswick, Ga., Livingston, Mont., Oregon City, Ore., Spearfish, S.D., The Dalles, Ore., Waseca, Minn., and Zenia, Ohio.

Deluxe has been a proud champion of small business since 1915. The company celebrated its 100th anniversary in 2015, creating the “Small Business Revolution” as a way to celebrate the small businesses that drive our economy and bring our communities together, and create a movement of support. As a leading provider of marketing services and products for small businesses, Deluxe Corporation believes that small businesses are the future of the American economy.
