Sheridan Celebrates Christmas event set for Sunday

SHERIDAN — A multi-faceted, multi-benefit holiday event is being planned for Sunday, Dec. 1 in the hall at the Town of Sheridan Municipal Complex, 2773 Route 20.

“Sheridan Celebrates Christmas” will begin festivities at 1 p.m. and close at 6 p.m., following a concert of holiday tunes performed by the Cassadaga Area Concert Band under the direction of Daryl Warren. The band will begin at 5 p.m., but will be preceded by a variety of musical entertainment provided by members of the New Horizons Band of WNY, the “Ukie Doodles” ukele sing-along group, lifelong Sheridan resident accordion player Wendy Gens, and others.

Vendors from the local area will have tables showcasing an assortment of Christmas crafts, decorations, and gift ideas. Food and beverages will be sold by the Sheridan VFW Auxiliary, the Sheridan Historical Society will hold a bake sale, and the Sheridan Fire Department Auxiliary will have a gift card raffle as fund-raisers for their organizations. There will also be a basket raffle with items donated by each vendor and organization that participates.

There is no charge to come and enjoy the holiday spirit with the town of Sheridan. Everyone is invited. There will be bins at the door for donations to Toys for Tots and the Forestville Food Pantry. It is a nice time to share with friends and neighbors of the town of Sheridan and the surrounding area, enjoying Christmas music while supporting local crafters and vendors, and local nonprofit organizations and charities.
