Dunkirk Fire Department releases January numbers

The Dunkirk Fire Department for the month of January responded to 194 calls. Five calls were related to fires, 161 rescue and emergency medical service, 10 hazardous condition calls, eight service calls, five good intent calls and five false alarms.

The department suffered no losses in equipment and helped in mutual aid calls on 13 occasions. There was a total of 33 overlapping calls with average response time for EMS being 3:34 and fire at 3:30; average time spent on scene was 13 minutes.
