Cornell Cooperative Extension of Chautauqua County’s 4-H and Master Gardener Programs are excited to announce the distribution of homemade face coverings to the public as part of the NYS 4-H Mask Task.

CCE Chautauqua County 4-H volunteers and members, Master Gardener Volunteers and talented friends have been working hard on the NYS 4-H Mask Task campaign. These volunteers have come together to support local community members who may need face coverings in light of the NYS guidance that everyone wear masks when going out in public due to COVID-19. In an effort to give back to our community, handmade face coverings will be made available at no charge. Limited supply is available, but these face coverings can be picked up at participating Tractor Supply Company stores in Chautauqua County. Tractor Supply Company stores in Dunkirk, Lakewood and Westfield locations have partnered with CCE Chautauqua to distribute these masks.

The free masks will be distributed on Wednesday, May 27 at Tractor Supply Company stores in Dunkirk, Westfield and Lakewood during normal business hours. Please see the store greeter for assistance. Masks that day will also be distributed from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the JCC Carnahan Center parking lot, 525 Falconer Street, Jamestown.

Due to the amount of individuals needing masks, Cornell Cooperative Extension suggests one mask per person at this time.

The Mask Task Program is one of many programs offered by Cornell Cooperative Extension of Chautauqua County (CCE-Chautauqua).
