Scrap metal drive taking place Saturday at Humane Society

The Lakeshore Humane Society will hold a Drive-Through Scrap Metal Drive at its Adoption Center from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, rain or shine. The Adoption Center is at 431 E. Chestnut St. in Dunkirk.

Through the support of Jolly Roger Recycling of Fredonia and Mom & Pops Recycling of Cassadaga, LHS is offering this opportunity to the public to clean-up basements, garages, yards, and localities, while benefiting the LHS in its work to help dogs and cats in need of loving homes.

Those with scrap metal to donate can drive-up and your vehicle will be unloaded. Social distancing will be observed. Masks are required.

Acceptable items are: aluminum, brass, copper, steel, appliances (no refrigerators), baking pans, pots and pans, bikes, car parts, extension cords, fans, grills, hot water tanks, lawn chairs, snow blowers, sinks, fencing posts and pipes, anything metal, as well as car batteries.

No televisions, computer monitors or components, appliances with freon, refrigerators, radioactive materials. These items will not be accepted.
