The Dunkirk Common Council is looking to lower the speed limit around Wright Park to 15 miles per hour.

A resolution presented by Councilmen Don Williams, Marty Bamonto and James Stoyle and Councilwoman Nancy Nichols reads “in order to make the area around the city of Dunkirk basketball courts, baseball, soft ball and little league fields between and around Wright Park and School No. 7 safer for the city’s children, it has been deemed prudent to lower the speed limit to 15 miles per hour.”

The change to the city code is expected to be discussed at the next Common Council meeting on Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. The meeting will be virtual and will be televised on Spectrum channel 1301 or viewable on the dunkirkaccess YouTube channel.
