The city of Dunkirk Department of Public Works announces that, in order to concentrate on winter work, the Lucas Avenue Recycling and Brush drop-off station will now be closed on Saturdays until April 1.

The Brush and Recycling Facility will continue to be open 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Friday excluding holidays. The county recycling facility located on Webster Road in Fredonia is open Saturdays.

When dumping brush during the week at the Lucas Avenue facility, note the separate pile for leaves, pine and other woods; please do not mix. Christmas tree pickup will occur curbside after the holidays at which time residents may also put out small amounts of yard waste.

The curbside pick-up of recycling will continue as scheduled per the 2020 curbside collection schedule.
