Concord Spellbinders Toastmasters club will welcome David Dengler, as a guest speaker at the next Toastmaster meeting Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. via Zoom. Dengler is holding the office of president of Rotary Club of Dunkirk-Fredonia. Dave Dengler has been a member of Toastmasters and knows both organizations well.

Toastmasters International and Rotary has enhanced their skills while increasing their positive impact in communities through a collaboration which started about a year ago. Concord Spellbinders Toastmasters Club was chartered some 30 years ago with David Larson of Dunkirk – Fredonia Rotary as one of the clubs Charter Members.

Toastmasters is an non-profit organization dedicated to helping people improve their public speaking skills, as well as minimizing the natural nervousness involved in speaking. It also teaches leadership and meeting management skills.

Meetings are held the second and fourth Wednesday of each month. It is an extremely non-threatening environment where members help each other improve by giving positive feedback.

Everyone usually gets a chance to speak at a meeting, whether to give a formal speech, to participate in impromptu table topic mini-speeches, to evaluate another’s speech, or to give a report on the meeting activities. Not only do you get a chance to speak in front of a group, but you also can go at your own speed.

Guests are welcome at no cost. For more details, call Jim Rawcliffe at (716) 672-2662 or jamesorawcliffe@hotmail.com or Christine Wolbert at cdwolbert@gmail.com
