Pictured is a spider plant that can be purchased to support the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Northern Chautauqua.

Those looking for an alternative to roses and chocolate for their sweetheart on Valentine’s Day can support the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Northern Chautauqua’s spider plant fundraiser.

Purchase a spider plant festooned with tissue and a red ribbon for $10 a plant. Spider plants are one of the easiest plant to care for and it is said that they symbolize caring.

Plants can be ordered by sending $10 per plant to tinyurl.com/DonateUUCNC with the buyer’s name, email or phone number, “spider plant”, and the number of plants in the comment field. Plants will be available for pickup at 222 Temple St., Fredonia, on Saturday, Feb. 13. Buyers will be contacted via phone or email for a pickup time. Proceeds will benefit the congregation.
