Legion members place flags

Submitted Photo As part of the celebration of the upcoming Memorial Day holiday, several members of the Fredonia Memorial Post 59 American Legion, both Post 59 Legion Veterans and Squadron 59 Sons of the American Legion, participated in the annual distribution of American Flags at veterans’ gravesites around the Fredonia community on Tuesday. Members visited the cemeteries located at St. Joseph’s Cemetery and St. Anthony’s Cemetery and distributed more than 500 flags within the cemeteries. The following members included in the picture from right to left are Rick Holly, SAL member, Kirk Miller, Legion member, Bill Shaw, SAL member, Jim Wright, Legion member, Doug McPherson, SAL member and Rodney Dziduch, SAL member. If there are any veterans’ families still in need of a flag or flags for their family members, please reach out to the Fredonia Memorial American Legion at (716) 672-5959 for assistance in receiving a flag(s) for the gravesite.
