Dunkirk Seniors plan future community events

The Dunkirk Senior Center will be sponsoring a flea market, bake sale and craft sale on Oct. 1. The event will be from 9 a.m.. to 2 p.m.. at the center. Baked goods will be reasonably priced. Come find a treasure at the Center. The event is open to the public.

Events are for members only unless otherwise specified. There will be a general membership meeting on Tuesday at 10 a.m. All members welcome. The September birthday lunch will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 28. Doors open at 11 with lunch served at 11:30 a.m. Any member with a September birthday is asked to call the Senior Center to register. The birthday person may bring guests at a cost of $10 each.

There will be a cell phone and tablet class on Wednesday at 10 a.m. Call the Center office to register. There will be a craft class on Monday at 10 a.m. The class will be making a Halloween stepping stone. Call the Center office to register.

The trip to East Aurora is almost sold out. Call the office if interested. The Neil Diamond tribute trip is sold out. Interested members can be placed on a waiting list. The Nov. 10 trip to Seneca Niagara must be paid the first week of October.

The Senior Center will be having a “Fish Dinner” in memory of Eugene “Gene” Pauszek on Saturday, Oct 8. Doors open at 11:30 a.m. with the fish dinner being served at noon for a donation of $5. Sign up in the Senior Center Office starting Monday. The Senior Center will be having a Halloween party on Wednesday, Oct. 26. Doors open at 4 p.m. with dinner at 4:30 p.m. Tickets go on sale starting Monday, Oct. 3. Cost is $5. Wear your favorite Halloween costume.

Independent Health and Medicare Services will be at the Senior Center starting the month of October. Independent Health will be available every Thursday in October from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. to answer any questions members have concerning Independent Health. Medicare Services will be available Tuesday, Oct. 18, Tuesday, Oct. 25, Wednesday, Oct. 26 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. to answer any question on any insurances. The Senior Center has a list of all dates through December available. Contact the Office for additional dates at. Dunkirk Senior Center office, phone #716-366-7530. The office is open weekdays from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Insurance sessions are open to the public.

Dominoes are played on Wednesday at 1 p.m. MahJong is Tuesday at 12:30 p.m. Pinochle is Monday and Friday at 1 p.m. Exercise is Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 9 a.m. Shuffleboard is Tuesday at 12:30 p.m. Hands and Feet is played Friday at 1p.m.
