Angelina Piede

Dunkirk senior Angelina Piede has been selected to participate in this year’s New York State School Music Association (NYSSMA) Conference All-State Symphonic Band in Rochester that began Thursday. She will perform with the orchestra on the French horn.

Nearly 7,000 students vied for a seat in one of eight All-State ensembles, and Angelina was one of 900 to audition last spring.

Along with Angelina, Dunkirk Secondary School students Hazel Bache and Marencia Bohn earned seats in separate ensembles at the NYSSMA Senior Area High All-State earlier this month. Each performed NYSSMA solos in May and scored high enough to qualify for these honor ensembles.

Unfortunately, that event, which was scheduled to take place at SUNY Fredonia, was canceled due to the winter storm in November and will not be rescheduled.
