BLOOM projects take root in region

A home on Burgess Avenue during last year’s BLOOM Front Yard Garden project.

As spring approaches and temperatures begin to rise, thoughts turn to freshly cut grass and the beauty of blooming gardens. In various communities, BLOOM committees are gearing up for the 2024 BLOOM Front Yard Garden beautification project. This initiative aims to acknowledge and celebrate the efforts of home gardeners who contribute to the curb appeal and vibrancy of their neighborhoods and our region.

Recent years have seen active participation from community groups such as Citizens for a Better Cassadaga, Imagine Forestville-Fredonia Garden Club, Lily Dale Environmental Committee, and the Silver Creek-Hanover Garden Club. For other communities interested in recognizing their own garden stewards through BLOOM, please contact NCCF at 716-366-4892 or nccf@nccfoundation.org for further information.

Throughout July, garden stewards will be honored in their respective communities with BLOOM Garden signs proudly displayed at their homes. Participating residents will also be entered into a prize drawing at the end of the program.

The BLOOM Front Garden Recognition Project is an initiative led by the Northern Chautauqua Community Foundation, aiming to revitalize neighborhoods and foster community pride. Interested parties can contact NCCF for more details.
