Area crews responded to a blaze Friday morning just outside the village limits in Pomfret on Route 20. Firefighters from Fredonia, Dunkirk, East Dunkirk and Chautauqua County Emergency Services were called to 3749 Route 20 just after 5 a.m. Damage inside the structure could be seen at the location. Flames also were evident as firefighters arrived. The fire was reportedly out by 6:50 a.m. The site was used mainly for storage.
