Silver Creek seniors Stephanie VanCheri and Kaelee Weiskerger are working toward obtaining their seal of civic readiness. They recently hosted a spaghetti dinner and basket raffle at Mount Carmel Church with donations from local businesses like Tom’s Family Restaurant, Villaggio Italiano, Hanford Country Market, Sunset Bay Restaurant, Rosina Real Italian Style, Tops, Save A Lot and Walmart for supplies and basket raffles. The baskets were made by Patricia Kelly. Through their valiant efforts, these young women raised $1,000 that they then donated to Oishei Children’s Hospital. On March 7, VanCheri and Weiskerger delivered their checks. They met with an official at the Kaleida Health Foundation for Oishei Children’s Hospital. The Seal of Civics committee is proud of all the work these students and others have done to help bring acts of service to our area!
