Grover Optical Focused on Doing Business in the City of Dunkirk

Submitted Photo A ribbon-cutting was held this week for Grover Optical, located at 21 E. Second St., Dunkirk.

Mayor Kate Wdowiasz and the Dunkirk Chamber of Commerce are delighted to congratulate Allan Grover, owner of Grover Optical located at 21 East Second Street in the City of Dunkirk. An official ribbon cutting was held on Wednesday, July 17 at 4 p.m. to announce the new Dunkirk location. Other local official representatives attended the event, including Assemblyman Andy Goodell, Lisa Vanstrom on behalf of state Senator George Borello, and James Feldman on behalf of Chautauqua County Executive PJ Wendel.

The new optical location is in addition to the original Gowanda Family Eyecare location that Allan Grover, a licensed optician, purchased back in 2020 and which is located in Gowanda. Grover has managed large optical retailers throughout New York state and he worked at the Gowanda Eye Care location for 10 years prior to purchasing it. Grover Optical provides personalized service to suit an individual’s needs rather than pushing corporate brands & products. Eye exams, contacts, glasses and lenses are all available to Grover Optical customers. The business is situated within a recently rehabbed building at the corner of East Second Street and Washington Avenue which presents a trendy industrial appearance for visitors.

If you are in need of complete eye care for your family, please call 716-427-6452 or visit www.gowandaeyecare.net. Hours of operation are Monday through Thursday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Friday 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

City of Dunkirk officials say they are proud to welcome another small-business to the community that envisions providing services to the area’s local residents.

Starting at $3.50/week.
