The World Series of Cars was started in 1984 as a way to help defray the expense of hosting a Babe Ruth World Series here in Jamestown and was one of the premier shows for antique judged cars. Over the years the show has evolved into the newly formed World Series of Wheels to reflect all vehicles and in addition to power sports. Over the years it has helped pay expenses to host 19 Babe Ruth World Series events from 1980 through 2024. Each one of the World Series tournaments has showcased young baseball talent from all over the United States in addition to bringing an economic boost to the Jamestown area.
The event is sponsored by Dave Warren Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram/Dave Warren Auto Group, with additional sponsorship by Chautauqua Pools & Power Sports, State Farm Insurance – David Snow and Drive Rental Cars.
