City and Refresco celebrate the new pavilion complex

Dunkirk Mayor Kate Wdowiasz, Fourth Ward Councilwoman Nancy Nichols, Refresco Plant Manager Randy Bell, Refresco Operations Manager Jordan Cooper along with other Refresco team members, city staff and market vendors were on hand to celebrate the official ribbon cutting for the new Dunkirk Farmers Market Pavilion.

City officials and members of Refresco’s leadership team gathered with market vendors for a ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate the official opening of the recently completed Dunkirk Farmers Market Agrarian Pavilion Complex. The new pavilion structure was made possible through a grant from the state Department of Agriculture & Markets New York State Farmers Market Resiliency Grant Program. While grant funds helped support the bulk of the project, some additional funding was needed to complete the project and Refresco stepped right in to provide their support.

“Refresco’s support for our community, and our local farmers, as the perennial Title Sponsor of our Dunkirk Farmers Market, in addition to their financial support for our new market pavilion, further highlights their commitment to promote local agriculture, provide a vibrant community gathering space and ensure access to fresh, healthy foods for all residents.” said Mayor Kate Wdowiasz. “We are thankful to have partners like Refresco who recognize the value that our Farmers Market brings to the community.”

The Market continues every Wednesday through Oct. 9 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. (rain or shine) outside the Dunkirk Senior Center at 45 Cliffstar Court.

The Dunkirk Farmers Market thanks Refresco, the Farmers Market Federation of NY and the Field & Fork Network for their generous support.

Starting at $2.99/week.
