Dunkirk Seniors list coming happenings
The Dunkirk Senior Center will be having a Pancake Breakfast on Sunday, Nov. 10. Doors will open at 10 a.m. with breakfast being served at 10:30. Breakfast will consist of pancakes, sausage, scrambled eggs, coffee and juice. Cost is $5 per member. Veteran members are free.
Medicare Services will be at the Center on Tuesdays, Nov. 5, 12, 19 and 26 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Representatives will be available to answer any insurance questions. Independent Health will be at the Center on Thursday, Nov. 7, 14 and 21 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. to answer any questions regarding Independent Health. These events are open to the community.
There is a trip to Meadows, Pa., and the Oglebay Festival of Lights in West Virginia, Nov. 12 to 14. Anyone interested in attending this trip, there are several spots available. Call the Center Office at 716-366-7530.
There will be a Defensive Driving Class on Dec. 9 and 10. You must attend both classes. AARP is sponsoring the class. Call the Center office to register. This event is open to the community.
The Office of the Aging is sponsoring “Empowered Caregiver” series for those caring for someone with Alzheimer’s or Dementia. The next seminar will be Nov. 13 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m, For more information call the Office of the Aging at 716-753-4582.
There will be a Cell phone class on Wednesday, Nov. 27 at 10 a.m. Call the Center Office to register.
Big Bingo will be Wednesday, Nov. 13. Doors open at 4 p.m. with a light supper being served at 4:30 p.m. Bingo will start at 5. Players must purchase a $2 ticket prior to the date of the bingo game. This ticket offers entry and entitles you to a jackpot card. Social time is being held on Saturdays in November. Doors open at 11 a.m. Bring a bag lunch and 25-cent bingo played at 12:30 p.m. Pinochle is Monday and Friday at 1 p.m. Exercise class is Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 9 a.m. Mah Jongg is Tuesday at noon. Tai-Chi is Tuesday and Thursday at 3 p.m. Dominoes is Wednesday at 1 p.m. The birthday lunch for November will be Wednesday, Nov. 27. Doors open at 11 a.m. with the birthday lunch at 11:30 a.m. Must stop in the Center office to register. You may bring additional guests for a cost of $10 per person.
