JAMESTOWN – An 11-year-old Jamestown youth died at Oishei Children’s Hospital in Buffalo after being hit by a pickup truck at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday in Jamestown.

Jamestown police officers, members of the Jamestown Fire Department and ALSTAR Ambulance crews responded to the accident on Willard and Kinney streets. Daniel Galarza Ramos, 11, was taken to UPMC Chautauqua by ALSTAR and then flown to Oishei Children’s Hospital.

The accident is being investigated by the Jamestown Police Department, along with the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Department Accident Reconstruction Team. All parties are cooperating with the investigation, which is ongoing, and no charges have been filed against the driver at this time.
