During the Annual Meeting, Board President Terry Tzitzis; Vice President Diane Earle; Secretary Judy Langworthy; Treasurer Caroline Fix, and board members Angelica Astry, Joseph Carrus and Carol Smith were each recognized with plaques in appreciation of their dedication and service to the Credit Union.

The SUNY Fredonia Federal Credit Union celebrated an exciting milestone during its recent Annual Membership Meeting — 50 years of service. Chartered in December 1974 as a benefit to the SUNY Fredonia college employees and their families, the Credit Union officially opened for business in February 1975. Frances C. Granata served as the first Board President, and by the end of the inaugural month, the Credit Union had 18 members.

Today, the Credit Union proudly serves approximately 3,300 members and holds $44 million in assets. Originally located in Thompson Hall, the office now calls Room G139 of the Williams Center home.

This year’s Annual Meeting took place in the Multi-Purpose Room of the Williams Center, welcoming 250 members in attendance. Board President, Terry Tzitzis, presented the President’s Report followed by the Manager’s Report from Laura Proffitt. Officer elections were also conducted during the event.

In honor of the 50th Anniversary, 10 outstanding high school seniors were each awarded a $500 scholarship. Attendees also enjoyed raffle drawings and received over $1,000 in door prizes. As a special memento, each guest took home a gift bag filled with custom-branded keepsakes commemorating the Credit Union’s 50-year legacy.

The dedicated staff and volunteers of the Credit Union play a vital role in delivering personalized service and keeping the day-to-day operations running smoothly. In addition to the Board, the Credit Union is supported by volunteers who generously give their time and expertise. Members of the Supervisory Committee include Chairperson Katelyn Anderson and members Leah Betts, Lynn Bowers, Lori Johnson and Joseph Carrus. Members of the Credit Committee include Chairperson Mark Delcamp and members Robyn Reger, Angelica Astry, Carol Smith and Rachael Coon.

The Credit Union staff were also acknowledged for their hard work. Manager Laura Proffitt, Assistant Manager Cara Pleszewski, Head Teller Kaycee Schnur, Lending Officer Sherry Adam and Member Service Representatives Jennifer Warren and Tami Johnson are all committed to providing friendly, dependable service to the membership throughout the year.
