Participants at this year’s Whipple family reunion.

The 104th Annual Whipple Family Reunion was held July 20 at Allen Park in Jamestown, NY with a total of 65 family members and guests in attendance.

Following registration and the purchase of 100th Reunion T-Shirts, collection of Family Quilt Squares, a visit to the Family Tree Display, and the usual games of chance, everyone assembled in the pavilion for the buffet with a prayer offered by Elaine King. Jambalaya was prepared as the main course by hosts Colleen and Eric King with attendees bringing dishes to pass as is the tradition.

Family photos were organized and taken by Ken Vogt and Jeff Galati, and the Annual Business Meeting was then held as run by President Debbie Stearns (New York), Vice-President Elaine King (Louisiana), and Secretary/Treasurer Dan Bromsted (New York).

The minutes and financial report from the July 2024 meeting was read, and family deaths, births and special events were noted. The Annual Gifts were given out in the usual categories as organized by Bonnie Bromsted, and after a brief discussion, the Election of Officers for 2025-2026 was held with Debbie Stearns and Elaine King being re-elected as President and VicePresident respectively, and JoLynn Stearns elected as Secretary and Katie Stearns elected as Treasurer upon Dan Bromsted’s retirement after 5 years as Secretary/ Treasurer.

It was decided to utilize Allen Park once again as the venue for the 105th Whipple Family Reunion slated for Saturday, July 18, 2026, with Joan and Jim Lisa, Sue and Tim Wagner, and Lynda Anzalone acting as hosts.

The winners of the drawings were announced, and the White Elephant Sale as organized by Colleen King commenced, with clean-up to follow.
