Krauza announces candidacy for county clerk

Greg Krauza
Greg Krauza, Fredonia business owner and former Mayor of the City of Dunkirk, is excited to announce his candidacy for Chautauqua County Clerk.
He continues to be active in the community serving as co-chairperson of the Fredonia Farm Festival, President of the Filling the Gap board of directors, and captain of an Eleven Day PowerPlay team. Krauza has also served as the President of the Fredonia Chamber of Commerce, President of the NY State Mortgage Brokers Association and managed the loan closet for the D&F Lions Club. His service and professional activity has shown his creativity, leadership and willingness to roll up his sleeves and get the job done.
Krauza is the President of Twinstar Business Solutions, Inc., building and servicing benefits packages for businesses. He is also president of J&G Enterprises, LLC, a development company that buys distressed properties, makes all necessary improvements and sells them, providing needed housing for our area. This also gets the property back on the tax rolls.
He is married to the former Jonelle Frazier, marketing and sales director at Fredonia Place. They reside in Fredonia with their daughter Lola. Greg has 5 grown children and currently has 10 grandchildren.
“There is nothing I am more proud of than my family,” said Krauza. “I have a rockstar wife, six children and five spouses and they have blessed me with incredible grandchildren. A big part of my commitment to this office, and my community activity, is to make the world a better place. I hope to instill a sense of ‘responsibility to others’ in each of them.”
“I am confident I have the experience, knowledge and attitude to create an environment to improve service delivery and increase revenue for Chautauqua County,” stated Krauza. “With my staff and strategic partners I have created and managed successful businesses for over 30 years.”
Krauza went on to point out three main areas his campaign will focus on.
The first is making sure residents have the most efficient, professional service delivery they deserve. The Department of Motor Vehicles, as well as all other areas the Clerk’s office manages, will receive the training and support they need to be the best. The county needs to develop awareness around revenue sharing at DMV and look for efficiency and revenue opportunities within the Clerk’s office.
The second is to use the office of the Clerk to assist cities, towns and villages in Chautauqua County to develop and implement strategies to save money, primarily through efficiency. This includes structural change to the way we have delivered all services to our residents.
“The time for small changes and business as usual is over. Taxpayers are at their limit and unless we want to encourage a continued exodus of people, especially younger residents and families, we must break tradition and make bold changes,” he said.
The third is to restore civility in the debate we have regarding our local governments. If we cannot debate issues with respect and an open mind we are doomed to a cycle of adversarial indecision. In order to achieve this local governments must be transparent and encourage participation in the debate.
“It certainly will not be easy. This means more listening, even to ideas you may have dismissed as foolish or wrong, and try to understand the idea or concern being conveyed. Our residents are a resource with experience and knowledge; they should receive respect and appreciation,” he said.
“My campaign will be a solution-based campaign. This does not mean we have the solutions to every issue, but we do have a commitment to using all resources available, including the people of Chautauqua County, to find and implement them,” Krauza said. “I believe the way we currently are operating is no longer sustainable. We have to approach each challenge with the attitude that it can be solved and look past preconceived notions. This is not always easy but we must respect opposing opinions, value those who express them, fiercely debate with courtesy and develop solutions that both sides accept. Then we will have sustainable solutions.”
