Yet another boil water order issued in Fredonia
Fredonia’s water nightmare continues. Another boil water order was issued Friday night.
The village Office of Emergency Management announced the order in a social media post about 7:30 p.m. “Repairs are ongoing, and updates will be shared as soon as they become available via additional releases,” according to the post. “The cause of the boil order is equipment related.”
Fredonia water customers are reminded to boil all water before using it for drinking, cooking, brushing teeth, or washing. The water is safe for doing laundry.
It’s not clear if the boil order is related to a major water break on Temple Street. The Office of Emergency Management asked motorists to avoid the area due to slush and ice buildup on the road, in a separate post just minutes before the boil order came down.
The village water system has been plagued by boil orders recently. The last one was in December, and there were two more last July and September. The latest one is the ninth in the last 35 months.
