Enjoy a weekend learning about all things outdoors at the Allegany Nature Pilgrimage (ANP) in Allegany State Park, Friday through Sunday, May 29 to 31.
The Allegany Nature Pilgrimage is an annual outdoor learning experience that combines fun with a variety of family and child-friendly nature activities. This weekend of natural history and outdoor education welcomes the seasoned naturalist as well as the inquisitive beginner.
In Western New York State’s Cattaraugus County, Allegany State Park’s more than 60,000 acres abound with plants and animals in the largest protected forest land in New York state outside of the Adirondacks and Catskills.
ANP Board Member Dave Nelson is especially excited about the 2026 program. “From Amphibian Ambles to Wildflower Walks and everything in between, this year’s Allegany Nature Pilgrimage offers fun walks and talks for nature-lovers of all kinds!” Nelson says. “And what better place to see, hear, and learn about nature and the environment than glorious Allegany State Park? All ages can join companions to experience the outdoors and learn from experts in a beautiful setting!”
A weekend pass is $45 for Audubon member adults, $50 for non-member adults, $20 for full-time students, $6 for ages 12-17, and free for 11 and under. Register by Friday, April 24 and the Early-Bird Adult prices are only $30 for Audubon members and $40 for non-members. Adult day passes are $25.
Cabin and campsite reservations for the weekend are now open at ReserveAmerica.com. Also, a limited number of rooms are blocked at the White Pine Lodge in Salamanca, just 10 minutes from Allegany State Park; call (716) 945-7600 and request the “Allegany Nature Pilgrimage” reduced rate.
The Allegany Nature Pilgrimage is made possible through the efforts of Allegany State Park, Jamestown’s Audubon Community Nature Center, Buffalo Audubon Society, Rochester’s Burroughs Audubon Nature Club, and Erie, Pa.’s Presque Isle Audubon Society.
