FREDONIA ADMINISTRATOR RESIGNS

OBSERVER Photo The only consistent face at village meetings over the last 10 years has been Richard St. George, its administrator.

In an emotional and sometimes heated meeting, the Fredonia Village Board will now have to fill its administrator position.

Richard St. George, outgoing administrator, tendered his resignation on July 17. His last day at the office will be Monday.

During the special meeting today, members of the public pleaded with Village Board members to do a better job of working with employees and managers. It also became heated when former village Mayor Frank Pagano said during his term Fredonia was known as one of the top places to live in the region. Today, he said, its hit rock bottom.

St. George called the village hall “a hostile work environment” though he did not elaborate on the issues publicly.
