Dunkirk-Fredonia Rotary seeking family for exchange student

The Dunkirk Fredonia Rotary is still seeking a host family for a 2019-20 school year exchange student.

Joseph Reyda, Fredonia school district director of instruction who runs the local Rotary’s exchange program, gave the Fredonia Board of Education information recently about the propsective student. His name is Vilmos Futo, or “Vili” for short, and he’s from Budapest, Hungary.

Reyda said Vili is a lover of art and cooking, and also plays piano and ukelele. Fluent in English, he is comfortable with public speaking, Reyda said.

During Reyda’s previous appeal for a host family, back in December, the identity of the student was not yet known.

Rotary provides the exchange student with $100 per month in spending money and arranges for the child to attend Fredonia High School. Medical insurance is also provided.

People interested in volunteering to host a student can call Reyda at 679-1581 or Brenda Hayes at 785-3555. More information on the exchange program is available at www.rotaryye7090.org.
