ROUTE 60 ROLLOVER: Heroin use blamed in crash

A driver who was reportedly ingesting heroin while driving, rolled his vehicle over Monday afternoon on Route 60. While heading south on Route 60, the driver, identified as Marcus T. Watters, 33, of Brocton, became unconscious and entered oncoming traffic, forcing those vehicles off the road. Watters’ vehicle then drifted off the west shoulder of Route 60, running over a Route 60 speed limit sign before striking a driveway culvert and going airborne. The vehicle then struck a fire hydrant and came to rest on the passenger side. Upon arrival of first responders, Watters was unconscious hanging from the seatbelt. He was transported to Brooks Memorial for minor injuries. He is charged with DWAI drugs, speeding and fail to maintain lane. State Police and the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office also responded to the scene.
