Pier ribbon-cutting ceremony set for Monday
Dunkirk’s improved pier is just about ready to be unveiled to the public.
On Monday at 10 a.m., a ribbon cutting ceremony will take place and feature city and state officials.
The project-supported by funding from the Smart Growth Community Fund, a Buffalo Billion II initiative-provides improved pedestrian access to Lake Erie, better connections to Dunkirk’s waterfront trails, increased seating and green space, improved fishing and water recreation opportunities, new lighting, and new way-finding and signage.
Work began on the project in April and has been nearing completion in recent days.
