Dale Drive shoulder paving project done

Submitted Photo The pedestrian and bike path on Dale Drive is completed and ready for use.

CASSADAGA — The Village of Cassadaga and the civic group, Citizens for a Better Cassadaga (CBC), are happy to announce the much-anticipated shoulder paving of Dale Drive has been completed.

This project, over two years in planning and development, was funded by a New York State grant and a contribution from Chautauqua County. The grant was obtained by the village of Cassadaga with strong support from the Chautauqua County Planning and Economic Development and Public Facilities departments.

Dale Drive, a scenic road along the shore of Lower Cassadaga Lake, runs from Route 60 to Frisbee Road. The paving project has created a 5 foot wide, paved shoulder on both sides of the road. This will make Dale Drive safer and more enjoyable for all types of use (walking, running, biking, driving). The village thanks local residents for their patience during the disruption sometimes caused by construction.

The CBC has developed a historic walking tour around the Cassadaga Lakes that includes a number of stops on Dale Drive. This free walking tour guide is available at the Cassadaga village office and the Cassadaga branch library. An online copy is available at: www.cassadaganewyork.org.
