SILVER CREEK — Silver Creek High School’s band officers spend the morning of Saturday, Oct. 19, lending a hand to Louis Pelletter, retired Silver Creek chief of police, current village of Silver Creek Historian and Town of Hanover deputy supervisor.

The students, their teacher Mrs. Kiersten Ferguson and Pelletter painted trim and walls on the inside of the dining car formerly known as “Steve’s Diner” outside of the Silver Creek Fire Department in an effort to refurbish it.

The dining car was manufactured in Silver Creek by the Ward-Dickinson Company and has been a part of the community in various locations for almost 100 years.

The band officers are grateful for this opportunity to help their community.
