Dunkirk appoints new staff

At a special meeting, nine new teachers, a new principal, a new High School Cyber/APEX Coordinator, and teachers of record monitors for the High School Cyber/APEX program.

The new High School Principal will be JulieAnn Hoerner, Lancaster. Hoerner possesses Permanent School District Administrator certification and her assignment will be at the High School filling the vacancy for Alan Gens, who transferred. The High School Cyber/APEX Coordinator for this school year is Jeannine Van Wey, with teachers of record monitors for the program being Cynthia McMillen for science, Jillian Domenico for social studies, Anna Cswaykus-Alvira for math, Catherine D’Agostino for English, Michelle Gilmour for physical education, and Michele Dawley for business.

The nine new teachers coming on board are as follows:

¯ Spanish teacher – Connor Aitcheson of Fredonia, filling a newly created position.

¯ Reading teacher – Jessica Davis of Jamestown, assigned to School Four and the Middle filling the newly created position.

¯ Social Studies teacher – Dr. Alexandra Elias of Jamestown, assigned to the Middle School filling the vacancy for Richard Westling who retired.

¯ AIS teacher – Gina Hall of Cheektowaga, assigned to School Three filling the vacancy for Pamela Pleszewski who retired.

¯ Math teacher – Becca Justinger of Lancaster, assigned to the Middle School filling the vacancy for Tyler Freeman who resigned.

¯ Business teacher – Francis Nigro of East Aurora, assigned to the High School filling the vacancy for Donna Pucciarelli who retired.

¯ ENL teacher – Alexander Phillips of Orchard Park, assigned to the Middle School filling the vacancy for Carmen Andrews who transferred.

¯ Special Education teacher – Elizabeth Rich of West Seneca, assigned to School Seven filling the vacancy for Margaret Michaels who resigned.

¯ AIS teacher – Courtney Schmidt of Lake View, assigned to School Three filling the vacancy for Nancy Ringler who retired.
