Literacy Volunteers Holiday Basket Raffle is underway

The Literacy Volunteers of Chautauqua County has more than 25 baskets and gift certificates in its 2020 Holiday Basket Raffle.

Through Saturday, Dec. 12, the non-profit will sell tickets to give the baskets away. Tickets are available at the book store and cost $10 for a sheet of 20 tickets or $25 for three sheets of 20 tickets. With every sheet of tickets purchased, donors will receive a free book.

Winners will be drawn on Dec. 12 after the bookstore closes. All winners will be called.

The Next Chapter Bookstore is full of good quality used books including fiction, non-fiction, children’s, sci-fi, mystery, cookbooks, self-help, etc. The bookstore is located at 12 Park Place, Fredonia, and is open Tuesday from 1 to 7 p.m. and Wednesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Face masks are required, and social distancing is encouraged.

Literacy Volunteers of Chautauqua County offers free one-on-one tutoring in reading, writing, and math, along with English language instruction, basic computer literacy, workplace preparation, and life skills.
