Goggles provide protection at Brooks-TLC

Early in the pandemic, as hospitals grew concerned about the availability of personal protective equipment (PPE), members of the sport racing and ski/snowboarding communities joined forces to help safely equip medical staff treating patients with COVID-19. Brooks-TLC is honored to be a beneficiary of this generous partnership.

Bevo Forti, regarded as one of the most recognizable and respected men in motocross, in partnership with 100%, the San Diego-based premium sports brand with a focus on performance eyewear and sports protection, created the Bevo Comfort PPE Goggle specially designed based on feedback from doctors, nurses and other health care workers.

The goggles were built for all-day comfort and safety, eliminate goggle marks and can be worn over prescription eyeglasses.

Following the company’s partnership with Goggles for Docs, a non-profit organization formed to donate goggles to hospitals around the world, Brooks-TLC Hospital System, Inc. received 100 pairs of BEVO Comfort PPE Goggles for distribution to medical staff. The case of PPE is valued at $1,000.

Brooks-TLC physicians and advanced practice professionals can be seen sporting the new PPE throughout the hospital. “The soft lightweight frame is comfortable even after a long 12-hour shift,” shares Amy Jo Burroughs, emergency room physician assistant. “My colleagues and I feel incredibly honored that this generous partnership thought to protect our medical staff during these challenging times.”

While the hospital now has adequate supply of PPE, monetary donations or gift cards would be greatly appreciated to recognize and support our health care heroes. Donations can be made to Brooks-TLC Hospital System by mail to: Attn: Community Relations Department, Brooks-TLC Hospital System, Inc., 529 Central Avenue, Dunkirk, NY 14048 or by calling 716-363-3313.
