Pomfret blaze destroys barn Saturday night

Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Department fire investigators are looking into the cause of a Saturday evening barn fire that destroyed the structure and then started a blaze in the grass and woods nearby in Pomfret.

Fredonia Fire Department, Dunkirk Fire Department and several other companies were dispatched to the fully involved fire around 9:15 p.m. Saturday at 8799 Concord Drive. Rich Telford of the county fire investigation team said officers were at the scene Sunday morning to try and determined the cause.

Concord Drive is located between Maytum Road and Fredonia-Stockton Road.
