Students enrolled in the Culinary Arts program at the LoGuidice Educational Center in Fredonia bake annually dozens of cookies in the shape of New York state.
These special orders placed by Chautauqua Lake and Forestville fourth-grade teachers Denny Morrison and Peggy Prince are used as part of the curriculum. Students decorate the cookie with frosting and candy to identify the capital, Finger Lakes, topography and more.
“This is a great program that I’m always excited to be a part of,” said David Caccamise, Culinary Arts teacher. “Margie Wise at Chautauqua Lake and I have been collaborating on this for years so it’s nice to see Mr. Morrison keep it going.”
