Sheala Barresi

Westfield-Mayville Rotary Club Scholar of the Month for January is Sheala Barresi. She is the daughter of Stephen Barresi and Jodie Barresi.

As a participant in the Jamestown Community College’s Connections Program, Sheala enrolled in English 1510: English Composition I, English 1530: English Composition II, English 1540: Introduction to Literary Studies, Mathematics 1590: College Algebra/Trigonometry, Mathematics 1600: Precalculus, Mathematics 1500: Problem Solving with Mathematics, as well as Communications 1610: Public Speaking. In addition, Sheala is enrolled in Biology 100: Principles of Biology from the SUNY College at Buffalo.

At the end of her high school career, Sheala will have earned 26 college credits.

For local credit, Sheala enrolled in Government, AP Microeconomics, Sociology, Psychology, and Physical Education.

Sheala will graduate from Westfield Academy and Central School in June 2022 with a Regents Diploma with Advanced Designation with Mastery in Mathematics and Mastery in Science.

She is an active member of the athletic program at Westfield Academy and Central School. Sheala is a member of the varsity girls’ soccer and basketball teams. She was team captain for both sports. In addition, she was a first team and second team all star in soccer, as well as the WDOE Athlete of the Day and Player of the Week. This year, Sheala helps with the live stream of the girls basketball games.

At Westfield Academy, she has earned several honors. During her high school career, she held academic distinction as she was placed on the honor and high honor roll. In addition, she won the Student Sage Scholarship and was Student of the Month.

Sheala has held employment at EraShea online retail shop and volunteered in elementary classrooms.

In the fall of 2022, Sheala will attend Jamestown Community College to pursue a degree in Liberal Arts.
