The Fredonia Farm Festival is back home.

The 54th edition of the festival will take place at its traditional site, Barker Common, today through Sunday. The previous edition last August had to be held at the Chautauqua County Fairgrounds due to a renovation project in the common.

It will be the first time the festival happens in Fredonia since 2019. The 2020 edition was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Notably, the grand parade down Temple Street is returning. It’s set for 1 p.m. Sunday, according to the Festivals Fredonia website. The parade is a traditional Sunday attraction at the festival, drawing hundreds of spectators and participants. It wasn’t held last year.

Today’s events include the grand opening, and startup for vendors, at noon.

Several bands are performing, topped by Terry Buchwald on the main stage from 7 to 10 p.m. The children’s tractor pull, a fairly new event that has proved highly popular, happens at 6 p.m.

Saturday kicks off with something new: the inaugural Fredonia Farm Festival 5K Run/Walk, set for 8 a.m. There will be 10 musical acts, split between the main stage and Gazebo. Dallas Remington is headlining with a main stage gig at 8 p.m.

Besides all of that, Saturday will feature a corn hole tourney and a kids’ demolition derby (using PowerWheels), along with the vendors.

On the final day, vendors run until 6 p.m. Along with more bands and the parade Sunday, an antique car show will run from noon to 4 p.m. on nearby Church and Park streets.
