Four injured in Portland crash

PORTLAND – A one-vehicle accident at Ellicott Road and Route 380 in the town sent four individuals to regional hospitals this morning.

Chautauqua County sheriff’s deputies report a vehicle driven by Gage Milliman, 21, of 49 Elm St., Mayville, was traveling at a high rate of speed on Ellicott Road when it failed to stop for a stop sign at Route 380 at 1:47 a.m. The vehicle left the road and struck a tree.

Milliman was flown to to Hamot Medical Center in Erie by Stat Medivac Hospital. Others injured from the accident were Keri Walawender, 24, who was also flown to Hamot by Starflight, Brady Raynor, 24, of Goldsboro, N.C., who was flown by Mercy Flight to ECMC in Buffalo and Garth Blanchard, 22, of Mayville, who was taken by Brocton ambulance to Brooks Memorial Hospital.

Brocton, Portland and Stockton Fire Departments assisted as well at the scene and deputies report charges are pending against the driver.
