Westfield Book and Paper Show Saturday
WESTFIELD – West-field’s Eason Hall will be overflowing with books and paper collectibles the first weekend of May.
The 2016 Antiquarian Book and Paper Show & Sale will take place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, featuring a room full of dealers.
Presented by the Chau-tauqua County Historical Society, dealers will be on hand selling vintage and rare books, historic maps, old photographs, postcards, posters, sports memorabilia, and much more.
There will also be local and regional history items for sale. All are invited to come and take advantage of what can turn into quite the treasure hunt for historical, artistic, and cultural items of interest.
“This is a show for collectors, readers and fans of various types of books, postcards and other ephemera,” explained Bob Johnston, CCHS trustee and event organizer. “People who attend will be surprised at the wide and diverse selection of items that will be available for sale. Everyone is invited and we ask that you please bring your friends too!”
Books will once again be a key component of the event, with various dealers selling rare books, hard-to-find classic first editions along with modern first editions, children’s books and various types of history books – including local and regional history. In addition to local books, there will also be local photographs, postcards and other items.
As it currently stands, more than 20 different vendors will be on hand for the event. Those from Chautauqua County include:

Admission to the event is $5, students $3, and children 12 and under admitted free when accompanied by an adult. All proceeds being used to benefit the Chautauqua County Historical Society and its programs. Door prizes will be given out to all who pay to attend.
Johnston also reminds attendees that while in Westfield for the Book and Paper Show, they can also take time to check out the several antique shops in town.
“It’s also a perfect opportunity to visit the McClurg Museum, home of the Chautauqua County Historical Society and its collections of just about everything that might interest those with a bend toward history,” Johnston said. “It is located in Moore’s Park right across the street from the show, and the $5 admission is well worth it.”
