SILVER CREEK — The Silver Creek Hanover Garden Club and Anderson-Lee Library are pleased to announce the opening of a Community Seed Library. Located within Anderson-Lee Library, the Community Seed Library is available to all community members. Native perennial, annual, herb, fruit and vegetable seeds are now available. Come in and check out what we have to offer – no library card required!

To check out seeds: Browse the available seeds in our seed packet card catalog drawers. Use the form on the clipboard to document what you are taking. This will help us maintain an accurate inventory for our lending system. Everyone is welcome to take seeds and it’s completely free! There is a limit of five envelopes per person, per visit.

To donate seeds: Bring cleaned seeds in a bag or envelope to Anderson-Lee Library. Using the form available at the library, write down basic seed information and place your container and form in the basket. If you have a bountiful harvest, save some seeds for us!

Many thanks to Ad Lumber, SEEDWAY and Hudson Valley Seed Company for their generous seed packet donation. This donation, along with donations from members of our community have provided the Community Seed Library with a great start.

If you are interested in gardening and the various projects our gardening club undertakes, please join the Silver Creek Hanover Garden Club at our next meeting on March 11 at 11 a.m. The club typically meets the second Saturday of every month at the Silver Creek Senior Center at 1123 Route 5.
